Jackson Memorial Foundation Hosts First Annual
5k Run & Fitness Walk
Benefitting Jackson Memorial Hospital
MIAMI, FL— February 10— The first annual Jackson 5k Run & Fitness Walk benefitting Jackson Memorial Hospital is scheduled Sunday, March 28 at downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park. The race starts at 8 a.m. and features a Holtz Children’s Hospital Kids Play Zone and Jackson Health Village.
Hosted by Jackson Memorial Foundation with TeamFootWorks, the run is expected to attract several thousand participants with proceeds going to benefit Jackson Memorial Hospital, the Miami-Dade community’s only academic medical center that cares for all, regardless of ability to pay.
“We are excited to offer our first community-wide fundraising event,” Roland D. Rodriguez, president and CEO of Jackson Memorial Foundation said. “We are not only supporting the health system, but fostering community awareness of health and wellness. We want to encourage everyone to join us in the fun. This is a great opportunity to support the institution that helps keep our community healthy.”
The Holtz Children’s Hospital Kids Play Zone features rock climbing, inflatable slide, bounce house and other fun for children. Music, refreshments and health oriented activities are planned for the Jackson Health Village.
